What is Buyer Persona?

A buyer persona is a semi-fictional profile of a typical individual buyer within your target accounts, capturing their job role, goals, pain points, objections, and how they make decisions. Where an ICP describes the company you want to sell to, the persona describes the person you're actually writing to — and it's what makes outreach feel relevant rather than generic.

Personas guide messaging directly: a VP of Sales and an RevOps manager at the same company care about different things, so the same product needs different framing for each. Good personas are grounded in real conversations with customers, not invented in a vacuum.

In AI-driven outreach, personas inform the brand voice and knowledge base so the AI adapts its pitch and objection handling to whoever it's talking to.

  • •Profiles the person: role, goals, pains, objections
  • •Different personas at one account need different framing
  • •Should be grounded in real customer conversations
