What is Consent Management?

Consent management is the practice of capturing, storing, and honoring prospects' permission to be contacted — recording who gave consent for which channel, when, and how, and keeping that record current as people opt in or out. It's the operational backbone of staying compliant with TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and GDPR at once.

Done well, consent management ties directly into your outreach engine: before any message goes out, the system checks whether you have a valid basis to contact that person on that channel, and it instantly updates when someone opts out. This prevents the most common and costly compliance failures — messaging people who never consented or who already asked to stop.

Because the burden of proof often sits with the sender, keeping timestamped consent records isn't bureaucratic overhead; it's your defense if a complaint or audit ever arises.

  • •Records who consented, to what channel, when, and how
  • •Checks consent before every send; updates on opt-out
  • •Timestamped records are your defense in a dispute
